About
Fort Primary School is a small but busy school in the heart of the local community in Leith, as far north in Edinburgh as you can go without getting your feet wet. We are fiercely proud of our school and don’t want to see it closed. We also don’t want to have to move from a school with excellent accessibility, brilliant playground space and small class sizes to be squeezed in to another school which would be of detriment to us both.
Read my review of the school, written earlier in the year for the Schoolsnet website.

What a fantastic website! We at Drumbrae are really impressed! Everything you have said could have been said by us at Drumbrae.
We need to stick together on all this and if we can work together so much the better. We had a very successful public meeting on Wednesday and we have a smaller group meeting next week. I think we have a lot to do over the summer.
Good luck

Fantastic website!
Good luck
The website looks great – keep up the good work – I am 100% behind you
Can you help me with links to Edinburgh groups that might like to get involved in this campaign?
I am keen to launch a campaign with Edinburgh parents in early August to pressure the Council into reducing class sizes of 30 for P1 pupils for the 2010/11 session starting in a few week’s time.
We are hoping a motion on the matter will be jointly proposed by the Labour and the Conservatives to the full Council Meeting of the 19th August. Labour Education Spokesperson Cllr Paul Gozdick thinks the motion could be supported by Labour. Conservative Education Spokesperson Cameron Rose is currently considering it: Cllr Jeremy Balfour has been very supportive so far. The Greens seem supportive, too.
You can get all the info you need from going to: http://www.roseburn32.plus.com. Cllr Andrew Burns also covers the matter on his Blog: http://andrewburns.blogspot.com/2010/02/bad-day-for-edinburghs-schools.html
I have been in touch with Gavin Robertson of Edinburgh Parent Council Network, but he was not confident they could help.
Have you any suggestions as to how I might get parents across Edinburgh involved?
Yours sincerely
Pete Gregson
